Samsung Galaxy Note 8 release date, news, specs rumors: Samsung to offer Note 8 upgrades to S7 users?
The dust is starting to settle after Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 exploding battery fiasco, and reports are already popping up about the next phone in the series, the Galaxy Note 8.
According to reports, Samsung has indicated that it will be allowing people who purchased the Galaxy S7 to upgrade to the Galaxy Note 8 when the phone comes out in 2017. This is no doubt a way to get back on the consumers' good graces after the PR disaster that was the Galaxy Note 7.
Before the Galaxy Note 7, however, Samsung was considered to be one of the most well-established tech brands in the world, and its top-tier smartphones go head-to-head with the likes of Apple's iPhone lineup. It is for this reason that fans are still confident the South Korean tech giant will land on its feet.
Previous reports suggest that the company will be releasing the Note 8 earlier in order to make up for the Note 7. Though Samsung usually releases phones in August or September, the Note 8 may find its way to the market early 2017. Samsung's promise to upgrade phones is sure to make users more eager for an early release date.
As for the specs of the phone, it's said that it will have an upgraded camera with an increased megapixel count and an upgraded touchscreen. The Note 8 is also rumored to have an S Pen which will be equipped with speakers.
The phone is also rumored to have 4K resolution and its own AI assistant like Apple's Siri and Microsoft's Cortana. The AI will most likely be provided by Viv Labs, a company often associated to their AI capabilities which was recently purchased by Samsung.
Though no official release date has been announced by Samsung, fans can expect the Galaxy Note 8 to come out sometime next year.
