After the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, the launch date of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has been plagued with various rumors and speculations concerning its supposed cancellation.

Despite these rumors, the Galaxy Note 8 should still be in the works. In a statement about the recall issue of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in October, the company also announced that the Galaxy Note 8, as well as Galaxy S8, would be released sometime in 2017.

Since no other declarations about the status of the gadget's development have been made, potential buyers and tech enthusiasts should still expect its arrival by next year.

Aside from the negative speculations about the product's delay, several leaks have also shed light on the possible features of the Galaxy Note 8.

According to a report by Trusted Reviews, the Galaxy Note 8 is likely to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 830 because it set to be manufactured by Samsung's chip-making division. Otherwise, the company may opt to employ its own custom-built Exynos chips for the gadget. The Galaxy Note 8 is also rumored to debut is own version of a dual-camera arrangement.

As reported by Value Walk, Galaxy Note 8 may also be equipped with the introduction of 4K resolution for the very first time in a Samsung handset. This technology will facilitate virtual reality and add appeal to the company's Gear technology.

It has also been suggested that Samsung could eliminate the Home button and could switch to touch-sensitive technology for their flagship phones next year.

It can be recalled that Samsung was forced to recall the Galaxy Note 7 after just a month since its launch. An internal investigation revealed a serious battery flaw, which caused some users' smartphones to catch fire.

After such a failure, all eyes are set on Samsung to utilize all its resources to ensure that the Galaxy Note 8 won't share the same fate as its predecessor.
