Samsung Galaxy S6 Review Roundup: Takes Over As Leader Among Android Devices
While its curved screen sibling is designed to capture eyeballs, the Galaxy S6 caters to a different group of people looking for a reliable, fast and premium alternative to their iPhone or Android device with a better quality display.
With the device overshadowing the iPhone 6 in terms of speed and design, it seems Samsung has finally created a topnotch device truly capable of capturing the hearts and minds of consumers.
In its extremely positive review of the Galaxy S6, Forbes described it as the "best Android phone of all time." It went on to place emphasis on how it has raced to the top of the benchmark tests like AnTuTu and Geekbench and even outperformed the HTC One M9 which comes with the Snapdragon 810. Also noted in the review was how Samsung managed to reduce the overloaded UI, helping the phone to perform better. The review also hailed the improved touch-based fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy S6 which, it said, performs much better than the versions on previous devices from Samsung.
The Verge, in its review, noted how the Galaxy S6 has copied the product philosophy behind the iPhone and finally ditched the faux leather or plastic that was often used on the back panels of previous devices like the S5. Going with the full glass casing around a metal frame has caused the device to have a premium look and feel which was missing earlier, the review said.
In its review, TechRadar described the Galaxy S6 as a "perfect blend of design and extreme power." However, it voiced concerns about the QHD screen on the device, saying it could drain the battery quickly. Otherwise, the review said the phone has several brilliant elements including its superb camera, which even outperforms the iPhone, its premium build its and super-fast speed.
BGR said in its own review that when compared to other premium Android- based phones in the market, it is clear that the Galaxy S6 is more powerful and has crisper display and sleeker design.
