Samsung Galaxy S8 release date, news, specs rumors: new smartphone to feature Harlan stereo speakers?

New details about the Samsung Galaxy S8 claim that the next-generation flagship smartphone will come out with dual speakers.

A recent report from Fone Arena states that sources are claiming that the rumored Samsung Galaxy S8 will be getting stereo speakers for the first time.

The sources also claim that South Korean technology and smartphone manufacturer might be using the audio technology from Harman. The car audio manufacturer that produces numerous audio brands such as JBL, Harman/Kardon and AKG Acoustics was recently acquired by Samsung through an $8 billion deal.

According to a press release about the acquisition that was posted on Forbes, "All of these [Harman] brands will greatly enhance the competitiveness of Samsung's mobile, display, virtual reality and wearable products to deliver a fully differentiated audio and visual experience for customers."

Other reports claim that Samsung plans to release two versions of the rumored Galaxy S8 smartphone next year. The first one will have a 6.2-inch bezel-less display while the other one will come out with a 5.7-inch variant that will reportedly have a curved display. Both versions of the Samsung Galaxy S8 will reportedly come out with thinner bezels.

Meanwhile, My SmartPrice cited a post that reportedly came from a popular Chinese tipster on Weibo, saying that the mobile phone manufacturer will no longer push through with a dual-camera setup. Instead, the company will reportedly continue using a single rear camera at the moment for its 5.7-inch smartphone model.

The tipster also reportedly claimed that Samsung might still consider bringing the dual-camera feature on a larger version of the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Other specs rumors for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 mentioned that the device will be equipped with either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 or Samsung Exynos 8895 10nm system on chip (SoC). It might also come out with a 6 GB of random-access memory (RAM).

If speculations are correct, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress 2017 in February.
