Samsung Galaxy S8 release date, news & update: What has Samsung's next big thing have to offer?
Samsung will try to move on from the nightmare brought about by a senior official who was arrested for allegedly leaking important data to Chinese tech rivals, as well as the fiasco that was the self-combusting Galaxy Note 7. They're doing this by dropping subtle hints about their upcoming flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy S8.
According to reports, the Galaxy S8 will boast of a ten-core chipset through 10nm Exynos processor. Should this be true, Samsung will be the first company to use deca-core in its smartphone. It's possible that it's no mere speculation, since chipmaker MediaTek already presented their ten-core processor in previous tech events.
Android Authority makes it clear that there is no difference between the 10nm Exynos and canonical Exynos 8895. Apparently, the chip uses ARM Mali-G71 GPU, which performs twice as fast as the Mali-T880 GPU. That means the next generation Galaxy S8 could be two times faster than the Galaxy S7.
The ARM Mali-G71 GPU is also reportedly 20 percent more efficient than the one used for the Galaxy S7. With that said, the Galaxy S8 just might be the new yardstick for efficiency when it comes to smartphones.
Having the ARM Mali-G71 GPU chipset will benefit gamers since it apparently is capable of 4K and virtual reality (VR) support. Reiterating the fact that these are based on reports with no confirmation yet, it is still worth noting that should such push through with the Samsung Galaxy S8, it will be the first of its class to offer such to gamers.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S8's release date, the Mirror states that the flagship galaxy phones, starting with the S2 in 2011, have always been announced at or around the time of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) that happens in Barcelona each year in late February or early March.
That said, consumers can expect the Samsung Galaxy S8 to hit stores by the end of March, or at least early April 2017.
