New rumors for next year's Samsung Galaxy S8 detail that the upcoming top-shelf smartphone will be sporting an 8 GB of random-access memory (RAM), which is definitely an improvement from the rampant rumors that it may just be carrying a 6 GB one.

The tip comes from China — supposedly from a source that has a decent record in terms of Samsung-related news, GSM Arena reports. And while it may take some time before tech buffs can actually confirm these rumors, this definitely is a welcome development for those who are looking to purchase the Samsung Galaxy S8. The leak further notes that the phone will be outfitted with an in-house-made system on chip (SoC), which is produced using the 10nm process while a UFS 2.1 flash storage will also be incorporated.

Prior to this report, a previous one from the same media outlet divulged that there will be two variants of Samsung Galaxy S8 in terms of size. This particular speculation meanwhile comes from its local country, South Korea, and it has been shared that the company is looking to up the ante of the additional model. The original iteration, meanwhile, will carry on its predecessor's 5-inch display while the other one will be flaunting a bigger 6-inch active matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) screen. Dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, it is tipped to come out alongside its phone sibling. Despite the difference in sizes, both phones are said to be coming with the now-famed curved displays as well as the company's own artificial intelligence (AI) smart assistant.

Other notable tidbits of information include not having a stylus for the bigger variant although there is buzz that Samsung has originally thought about the idea only to scrap it out. However, what is more interesting in this pool of information is the similarities in terms of overall footprint of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus to the discontinued Samsung Galaxy S7.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and its higher-end sibling, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus are both expected to be unveiled this coming April via a special event hosted by the tech giant in New York.
