Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 release date, specs rumors update: $250 price offer for Tab S2 hints imminent Tab S3 release
For the past several months, it has been rumored that Samsung would release the next iteration of the Galaxy Tab series before the end of 2016. The supposed last hardware event of the South Korean tech company took place last September. Samsung followers who were expecting the arrival of the Galaxy Tab S3 during the said event ended up disappointed when Samsung focused on the new Galaxy Note 7 phablet instead. However, according to the latest rumors, there are hints that the unveiling of the Galaxy Tab S3 will happen in the near future.
As reported by The Bitbag, Samsung is now offering promo discounts for the current Galaxy Tab S2 units with 8-inch panel display. The company regularly offers price cuts for the Galaxy Tab S2, although the recent one is quite interesting due to the amount of discount offered, plus the timing of the promo. The Galaxy Tab S2 is now available for just $250, down from the regular price of $399. For now, the price cut is only offered on Samsung online stores and Best Buy.
According to Neurogadget, it is possible that the Galaxy Tab S3 will be released sometime in March next year. Many people thought that the upcoming Galaxy tablet would make it during the September hardware event by Samsung, but the entire day was focused on the issue-stricken Galaxy Note 7. It looks like there was no room left for the Galaxy Tab S3, so its unveiling was moved to the first quarter of 2017.
GSM Arena reported that the Galaxy Tab S2 will have two variants. Both variants are expected to keep the 4:3 display ratio of the previous Galaxy Tab iterations. Likewise, the plastic back of the Galaxy Tab S3's predecessors is likely to be retained as well.
If the rumors are anythingn to go by, Samsung will skip the current chipset of the Galaxy Tab, Exynos 7 Octa-Core 5433 and Mali-T760 MP6. This time around, the next Galaxy tablet will be powered by Exynos 8890 processor with an Adreno 510 GPU.
