Following the blunder that is the Samsung Note 7, the South Korean tech company is looking to move forward with the upcoming direct follow-up, which is Samsung Note 8. It is no secret that a lot is riding on the shoulders of the 2017 smartphone given that it does not only need to stand up on its own but also has to be so great that tech buffs will get confident on the Galaxy Note line again. That being said, a lot of rumors as early as now have been making the rounds online for potential buyers to consider, particularly in terms of the device's release date.

Usually, the Note franchise has an August/September launch date followed by a late September to mid-October public rollout. However, this may no longer be the case as rumors fly around about an earlier debut for the Samsung Note 8 especially with top competitor Apple planting its high-end phones for a September release. This is sort of tricky in terms of marketing, with the IFA also cramming it sometime around the same time frame. It is also important to note that a lot of Note 7 users have been offered a trade deal with their defective units in exchange for the device's successor. which gets its release date more attention.

Samsung has indirectly confirmed that they are not yet ready to pull the plug off the Note line just yet despite the massive headaches brought about by the Note 7. While 2016 may not be the last year fans will get to see a rollout from the family of devices, it seems like the company is quietly arranging its chess pieces to cover its spot once it finally decides to just phase it out. A report from Forbes cites that Samsung's decision to go big on the supposed Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus is a direct hit on the Note series, given that it has always differentiated the two with the latter being the bigger device. This recent report seems to inch users toward a more similar type of smartphones from the Seoul-based company with blurred lines in terms of aesthetics and maybe even features.
