Samsung Veyron release date and specs rumors: New clamshell smartphone with Snapdragon 820 to come out this year?

It is quite rare for people to see clamshell phones these days. The market has been recently dominated with big handsets that feature big screens with quality display technology. However, Samsung has been rolling out clamshell phones. The Korean tech giant is certainly one of those companies that are not afraid to test the waters of the market. According to reports, Samsung is gearing up to release yet another clamshell smartphone, Veyron.

In 2015, Samsung released the SM-W2016, which has done considerably well in the market. This year, rumors are rampant suggesting that the company is already developing another clamshell device, which has a model number SM-W2017. According to SamMobile, although there is not much to dig up with regard to solid details about the upcoming smartphone, there are speculations that the handset will be rolled out in China this year. Many fans around the world wonder if Samsung will ever make a western launching of Veyron.

The name Veyron is said to be taken from the iconic sports car called Bugatti Veyron. It is said to mirror the external design of the 2015 clamshell smartphone; however, it will carry more advanced specs and features.

The previous foldable smartphone came out with a two 3.9 inch Super AMOLED display – one in the outside and one in the inside. Both screens have 1280 x 768 pixels resolutions and run on an Exynos 7420 chipset from Samsung. The device has 3 GB of RAM and features a 64 GB internal storage capacity. It is also powered by a 2,000 mAh battery.

Meanwhile, many fans are hoping that the Veyron will come out with the latest premium specifications in the market today. There are speculations suggesting that it will run on a Snapdragon 820, along with a higher RAM.

Samsung has yet to provide solid details with regard to its development and release date.
