San Francisco 49ers trade rumors: Colin Kaepernick could move out by the end of the season
Following an agreement to restructure his contract, Colin Kaepernick's future with the San Francisco 49ers is now up in the air.
The Niners have finally come to terms with Kaepernick, amending his deal that would take away the final two years of the contract. The contract also gives Kaepernick the choice to opt out of the final year of his contract and play elsewhere.
Basically, he is contracted to play with the Niners until next year. However, the quarterback can choose to leave this summer, giving him the chance to start a new life with another team, while the Niners can also start a new chapter with a different quarterback.
As a result of this, Kaepernick has now been rumored to possibly move to the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks.
Some believe that the reason there are no teams trying to contact the Niners for Kaepernick is due to the fact that he has such a big contract. This restructure makes him approachable as the team does not have to shell out so much money for a quarterback that may just be a back-up.
Cheat Sheet published an article that shows where Kaepernick could end up, with the top choice being the Cleveland Browns.
The Browns are clearly struggling at the moment, and having Kaepernick could be the upgrade they need as it could overshadow the controversy that Kaep has in his baggage.
If Kaepernick can be used as a back-up, then the Indianapolis Colts and Seahawks are good bets. The Colts have Andrew Luck in their line-up but having Kaepernick can give a new dimension to the offense. Kaep can choose to run the ball and he is much quicker than Luck.
For the Seahawks, having Kaep behind Russell Wilson can be a good predicament for Seattle.
These are all speculations but if the movement on Kaepernick's contract is any indication, then something big is about to happen.
