'Scandal' Season 4 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: Will Fitz Risk Presidency To Pursue His Love For Olivia?
We were all shocked by Olivia Pope getting kidnapped as the mid-season finale of the "Scandal" ended to a shocking cliff hanger last month. The show is to return on Jan. 29 at 9/8C on ABC.
President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) will be doing anything he can to save the love of his life, even when it means leaving his First Lady, Mellie Grant. This is the bravest thing he can do amid all the controversies, including his son's death and his daughter's sex tape.
Tony Goldwyn, in an interview with TV Guide, said these controversies surrounding President Fitz could destroy him. He also commented that it can be scary since "the stakes are unbelievably high."
Fitz is already on his second term as President. As such the risks are high if he decides to divorce his wife and make things official between him and Olivia.
The President is caught in a difficult dilemma on whether or not to leave the Oval Office to pursue his love for Olivia. However, before he can make that life-changing decision, he will need to find Olivia first by teaming up with Jake, who was the last person to see her.
As much as the President has issues with Jake, both of them will have no choice but to use each other's help to find Olivia.
For Scott Foley, who plays the role of Jake, he is "open to anything, whatever the writers want to do."
However, he said, "I think there is still more to be explored in regards to Jake and Liv. But I'm open to whatever they'd like."
Meanwhile, Kerry Washington, who plays lead character Olivia, took to social media with a mysterious tweet, saying, "Today while playing Olivia Pope I did something that I've never done before and something else that I haven't done in a LOOOONG time."
We will have to find out what it is about when "Scandal" returns later this month.
