'Scandal' season 6 spoilers: Election result sends everyone on tailspin
"Scandal" season 6 will be an explosive one, both literally and metaphorically as the election jitters and the results get inside the head of Olivia (Kerry Washington) and everyone else.
Fans won't have to wait that long to find out who among Mellie (Bellamy Young) and Frankie Vargas (Ricardo Chavira) as well as Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) and Cyrus (Jeff Perry) will become the new president and vice president of the United States of America.
Everyone is looking anxious and stressed in the "Scandal" season 6 trailer. Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) appears to be particularly shaken while Liv finds herself in front of more drama and dilemma.
One of the takeaways from the trailer as far as Liv and Fitz's relationship is concerned is that they might turn to each other in the midst of the chaos.
However, there was also a scene in the "Scandal" season 6 trailer where they were bickering. It appeared to be something that Liv discovers presumably about the elections but Fitz does not believe in.
"In just the first 10 minutes alone, you're not going to know what hit you," the narrator warns fans just as a barn explodes as Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Quinn (Katie Lowes) approached it.
It is unclear if anyone was there, but it shows that "Scandal" season 6 will definitely be ungracious to the characters. Death might even be lurking.
Another telling part of the clip was Mellie who tells Liv that she is "done running for president" while the fixer sternly tells her, "Well, I'm not."
"If the season 6 trailer is any indication of what audiences are in for, buckle up," ABC teases on its website about what awaits the return of "Scandal."
"Will Mellie drop out of the presidential race? What is Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) so worried Olivia is wrong about? Why does a building blow up in front of Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Quinn (Katie Lowes)? What does it all mean?" the network muses.
"Scandal" season 6 will premiere Thursday, Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC.
