'Scream' season 3 plot news, air date: Halloween special hints at next season's plot
Last Tuesday, Oct. 18, MTV launched the Halloween special for the TV adaptation of the popular horror franchise "Scream." The special episode revealed hints about the upcoming season's plot.
The episode ended with Noah (John Karna) teasing that the third season of the show will continue the story they introduced in the Halloween special. "I have a feeling our story isn't over," Noah narrated. "And there is another sequel in the works," he added.
Furthermore, towards the end of the Halloween special, viewers were able to see a man named Mr. James checking into the Lakewood motel. Could this individual be the real Brandon James? Viewers will find out more about this new character in the third season of "Scream."
As previously reported, MTV announced prior to the launching of the Halloween special that they renewed "Scream" for another season. The third season will have six episodes and a total make-over without Richard Register and Michael Gans as the showrunners.
Though there is little information about the upcoming season, the special episode has dropped a few hints that suggest the plotline for season 3.
To recap, the Halloween special started with Kieran (Amadeus Serafini) being sent to prison for the heinous crimes he committed. But before the teen could serve his time, a person wearing the Brandon James mask appeared in his holding cell.
The individual, however, wasn't there to break Kieran out of prison. The masked persona was there to kill. Kieran got his throat slit before the Brandon James killer stabbed him in the back. Coincidentally, the teen's death occurred on Halloween weekend, which was a year before Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire) went on a murder spree.
After the recent events, Emma (Willa Fitzgerald), Brooke (Carlson Young) and Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus) packed their bags for a trip to Shallow Grove Island in hope of escaping the drama.
Though Noah and Stavo (Santiago Segura) are in search of new material for another novel, their penchant for thrillers will lead them to experience something horrible. More importantly, the pair failed to tell the group that Shallow Grove Island is also known as Murder Island.
During their vacation, the pair dug deeper into the story of Anna Hobbs, who murdered her family in the '30s. But before they could piece things together, another killer appeared on their trip, someone who closely resembles Hobbs. The killer wore the same mask and used the same weapon.
As Noah teased, viewers might see the storyline progress into a new plot for "Scream" season 3.
Stay tuned for more updates on the third season of "Scream."
