'Sense8' season 2 air date news: Upcoming season to shed more light on sensates' interconnectivity?
The "Sense8" Christmas special has come and gone and while it did answer a few of the questions left over from the first season, it has also introduced a slew of others that the show's second season can work with.
The special episode, which is listed as part of the second season on Netflix's browser, has brought on some major changes to the lives of its main characters. Kana (Tina Desai) ended up taking Wolfgang's (Max Riemelt) advice and married her fiancée Rajan (Purab Kohli). Wolfgang himself had some of his own personal issues to deal with regarding the gang war he had started in Berlin following his fallout with his uncle. Lito's (Miguel Angel Silvestre) secret is out and the world mostly did not take well to it. Sun's (Doona Bae) prison life had become much more dangerous, while Nomi (Jamie Clayton), Will (Brian J. Smith) and Riley (Tuppence Middleton) were still on the run from the show's main protagonist, Whispers (Terrence Mann).
Some viewers felt that the newly recast character of Capheus (Toby Onwumere) was not utilized enough in the Christmas special, and should be given a much more defined storyline in the upcoming second season.
"Sense8" season 2 will find its characters struggling to deal with the new phase of their journey as individuals and as a cluster of sensates. On top of their own problems they still also have Whispers to deal with and the mysteries underlying their interconnectivity to unravel. Fans are also hoping that the show's sophomore season will shed more light on the character of the departed cluster mother, Angelica (Daryl Hannah), as well as feature more explanations from Jonas (Naveen Andrews) regarding the workings of the sensates' minds.
"Sense8" Christmas special is now available to watch on Netflix, while the rest of season 2 will be released next year on Friday, May 5.
