'Shadowhunters' season 2 episode 7 spoilers: Cleo causes conflict between Luke and Clary; Emeraude Toubia teases Isabelle's journey
Loyalties will be tested on the upcoming episode 7 of Freeform's hit supernatural drama, "Shadowhunters" season 2.
Titled "How Are Thou Fallen," next week's episode will see a conflict between Clary (Katherine McNamara) and her father figure, Luke (Isaiah Mustafa). According to the official synopsis, Clary and Luke find themselves fighting with each other because of Cleo (Lisa Berry). Luke's sister suddenly shows up at the Jade Wolf to claim innocence about the recent attack, but no one's buying it.
Luke doesn't trust a word his sister says, but Clary thinks of it as a good opportunity to get to Valentine. Luke and Clary's different ideas lead to a conflict between them, forcing Clary to find a way to prove she's right about Cleo. Elsewhere, Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) embarks on a dangerous path, while Simon (Alberto Rosende) gets dating advice from an unlikely source.
Stars McNamara, Toubia, and Alisha Wainwright recently attended the 2017 aTVFest in Atlanta with showrunners Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin. They didn't spill anything about the upcoming storylines, but Toubia shared some details on her character's journey. In an interview, the actress revealed that Isabelle will be taking a whole different direction this season. She also noted that the new story arc for Isabelle will surprise fans because it's not in Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments" book series.
"It's something that was not in the books, it was just created for TV," she teased. "As an actress it's scary but it's also exciting because you get to push your boundaries from what you usually do... Izzy being powerful, it will be nice to see her really break and fall down and I hope the fans really appreciate it. It's been hard work, it's been hard and I hope they like what we've done," she added.
The second season of "Shadowhunters" airs every Monday night at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
