'Shameless' season 7 episode 12 spoilers: Did Monica die?
The Gallaghers will be preparing for a funeral, and the person that they will have to say goodbye to might be Monica (Chloe Webb). Meanwhile, is there still a chance for Mickey (Noel Fisher) and Ian (Cameron Monaghan) to have a happy ending?
In the upcoming episode 12 of "Shameless" season 7, titled "Requiem for a Slut," the Gallaghers will be experiencing a loss in the family.
The official synopsis for the episode reads, "The Gallaghers grapple with the loss of one of their own. As Lip (Jeremy Allen White) takes steps to improve his future, Debbie (Emma Kenney), Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) and Liam (Blake Johnson) get roped into Frank's (William H. Macy) new scheme. Season finale."
Although the person going to be buried has not yet been mentioned, it seems that the family will be saying their goodbyes to the mother Gallagher. In a sneak peek for episode 12, Fiona (Emmy Rossum) is seen talking about burial services with an agent. She asks the agent "How do we get her into the ground as soon as possible?"
By the end of the meeting, Fiona explains her choice of a cheap and sarcastic burial service by saying "It was an uneventful childhood."
Meanwhile, Mickey and Ian had lived a short romantic reunion when Ian decided not to come with Mickey in crossing the border to Mexico. Is there still hope that the two will get back together after all that has happened?
In an interview with TV Line, Fisher shared that Ian and Mickey had "a really wonderful and bittersweet, but very beautiful, goodbye — at least for now."
When asked if there was a chance for Mickey and Ian to work on their relationship, "I think they definitely can. The love is there. The dedication to one another is obviously there," Fisher responded.
"Shameless" season 7 finale airs on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
