Sony CES 2017 plans: new devices to be announced on Jan. 4?
Sony officially revealed its plans for the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show 2017 (CES 2017).
In a statement on the company's official blog page, Sony announced that it will be conducting a press conference on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at exactly 5:00 p.m. PST. The press conference will be held at the Booth 17300 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
While the Japanese tech giant remains mum about what it will announce during its upcoming CES 2017 conference, several speculations claim that there will be a number of product lines coming out from the company next year.
One of the highly anticipated product line from Sony in 2017 is its next-generation smartphone products. It can be remembered that Sony opted not to release a new smartphone during its past CES appearances. But there are reports claiming that it will come up with a brand-new smartphone hardware this year.
According to GSM Arena, Sony will be introducing the Sony Xperia G3121 and 3112 during its upcoming CES 2017 event. These devices are rumored to be 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch big, and they are expected to be equipped with Snapdragon 820.
WCCFTech also claimed that the rumored new Sony smartphone products will have bigger battery capacity and larger screen displays. But the tech company has yet to confirm if it will really release those products early next year.
There are also rumors claiming that the Sony Smartwatch 4 will be unveiled at the CES 2017. Its predecessor, the Sony Smartwatch 3, first came out during IFA 2014, which means that the last smartwatch that came out from the company had been over two years ago.
If they will be releasing a new wearable device next year, this could come out with the Android Wear OS just like operating system from its previous model. Other improvements are also rumored to come in the next-generation wearable device.
Sony is expected to confirm their CES 2017 announcements in the coming days.
