Marvel Studio continues to tap stellar actors to go head to head with their superheroes, with Michael Keaton taking on the big baddie of the company's first take on a Spider-Man standalone. With its interconnected universe more often than not suffering from villain deficiency syndrome, young actor Tom Holland who takes on the spidey suit assures fans that Vulture will not be pulling any punches in "Spider-man: Homecoming."

Just because the Jon Watts film is taking on the John Hughes coming-of-age feel does not mean that the film will be any less dramatic or gory. In fact, Holland who debuted his newest gig in last year's "Captain America: Civil War" stated that his first nemesis from his budding franchise will be nothing short of menacing.

"The first time we see the Vulture is terrifying," Holland teases in USA Today's exclusive portfolio for "Spider-Man: Homecoming." "It's like a horror movie: really scary, very intense and shocking," he added.

Not much is known about Keaton's character, who is no stranger to superhero films given that he has one imbibed the famed DC character, Batman. But it will be refreshing to see him on the other side of the spectrum as he antagonizes the web-slinging metahuman. In the first official trailer for the film, the big baddie appears to be taking on a different aesthetics from his comic book origins. Instead of sporting a bald head and exposed face, Keaton's version is wearing a mask to mimic a bird's face. Him also being just an average person equipped with enough motivation to fuel his evil plans.

"It's fun to think that if Spider-Man is a regular kid who becomes a superhero, there's got to be a bunch of regular guys who become supervillains, too," Holland added.

Speaking of being presented as a normal teen going through the high school phase, the upcoming story of Peter Parker takes after the events of "Civil War," which means that an Uncle Ben death rehash will not be really delved into. But the impact of him moving forward will be very evident in the budding superhero.

Another mentor figure scheduled to affect Peter's life, Marvel's very own Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) who was the one who recruited him into the thick of his Avengers rift with Cap (Chris Evans). Being associated with a tech genius who built his own suit also poses the possibility of a massive suit upgrade for the Queens native. Studios president Kevin Feige teases of enhanced capabilities of the improved armor saying that at this point, it "can do a lot more than he [Peter] even realizes right now. You begin to see just how much Tony Stark loves bells and whistles."

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" hits theaters this July 7.
