'Star Wars: Battlefront' 'Death Star' DLC release date news 2016: New expansion expected to add more exciting features to the game
It was a super exciting weekend for all "Star Wars: Battlefront" fans following the franchise's celebration event, which also showcased the upcoming DLC pack for the title. Game publisher Electronic Arts has also released a reveal trailer for the expansion, which is being dubbed as "Death Star" DLC.
In the delight of all fans of this first- and third-person shooter video games based on the Star Wars films, Niklas Fegraeus, "Star Wars Battlefront's" Design director, said that the new downloadable content will include two new heroes. The first one is the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy called Bossk, while the second hero to be added is Chewbacca, legendary Wookiee warrior and Han Solo's co-pilot aboard the Millennium Falcon.
"Then in September, Season Pass holders will receive our third digital expansion pack, Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Death Star. More new maps—on ground and in space—new weapons and Star Cards and two new heroes including one larger-than-life character we know you've been patiently waiting for. Not a Season Pass holder? Don't worry, the expansion pack is available for separate purchase," as stated in the official EA "Battlefront" website.
The new addition will certainly bring more excitement to the game. However, EA also revealed another character to be included in the upcoming "Death Star" DLC. According to the report, the other character is one of "Star Wars" favorite and it will soon make an appearance.
Meanwhile, there are speculations suggesting that players will enjoy character customization once the DLC is rolled out. Other additions to the game are said to be a female shadow trooper, shock trooper and scout trooper
However, this has yet to be confirmed by the team behind the game, but there are rumors saying that the company is already looking into it.
As of now, the company has yet to announce the release date of the new DLC. Fans must stay tuned for more updates.
