The subtitle to "Star Wars Episode 8" might have been leaked due to Lucasfilm filing for intellectual property rights. Meanwhile, Adam Driver thinks it will be good for the film if there will be no trailers before its debut.

AVS Forum found out that the company responsible for producing "Star Wars," Lucasfilm, submitted to the European Union Intellectual Property Office to acquire the rights of "Star Wars Forces of Destiny."

The reason why it is speculated to be the subtitle for the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 8" that will debut in 2017 is that the application entailed a long list of goods and services where "Forces of Destiny" might be used on, in terms of trademarking. The list reportedly has more than 2,000 items including motion picture films, clothing, and office supplies.

But according to Movie Pilot, "Forces of Destiny" might be used for another medium like a video game, a new series, or a playset, just like the "Star Wars" RPG game titled "Force and Destiny."

Meanwhile, plot suggestions based on the rumored "Star Wars" subtitle, "Forces of Destiny," have already surfaced online. It is said that "Episode 8" might focus on Jedi lore and prophecies about the Chosen One, or it might follow the story of someone in particular and their fate in the universe.

In other news, during an interview with Cinema Blend, Driver said that keeping fans in the dark, in terms of plot, by not showing a trailer could make "Star Wars Episode 8" more exciting.

"I think that'd be bold. I'd love it, yeah! Then no one would know anything. The less people know, I feel like, the more exciting... the more of an event it is," Driver explained.

Plot suggestions are more often formulated based on a movie's subtitle or its trailers. In the case of "Star Wars Episode 8," neither is still available, which makes it difficult for fans to predict what the film's focus will be. It is possible that the subtitle and the trailer will be revealed when the film's release date is already on the horizon.

"Star Wars Episode 8" is expected to hit theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.
