The force is definitely on Disney's side as "Star Wars Rebels" set a new record for Disney XD for having 1.03 million viewers during the premiere.

The Monday premiere hit the top spot on any animated series in Disney's history for the past 15 years.

It was also Disney's top animated series launch, according to TheWrap. "Star Wars Rebels" was seen by the "6-14 demographic with 481,000 viewers in the demo as well as the boys 6-14 demo (with 369,000 viewers), along with the kids 6-11 demo (356,000 viewers) and boys 6-11 (283,000 viewers)," TheWrap states.

As compared to last year's launch of "Star Wars Rebels," Disney has successfully increased their viewers by 11 percent. The series has already been renewed for Season 2.

Meanwhile, Disney will also release a film based on the series. The animated film, which will be aired this October, is going to be an hour long.

"We wanted to do something special for the ABC broadcast," executive producer Dave Filoni told StarWars.com. "We've added a scene which gives audiences insight into the Inquisitor and includes a cameo by Darth Vader voiced by the distinguished actor James Earl Jones."

However, Filioni did not reveal the specific details on the additional scenes they would add in.

The voice actors for the film includes Freddie Prinze Jr. (Kanan), Steve Blum (Zeb), Taylor Gray (Ezra), Vanessa Marshall (Hera), David Oyelowo (Agent Kallus) and Jason Isaacs (The Inquisitor).
