A handful of characters from the upcoming "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" were recently introduced.

With just a little over two months before the premiere, more and more details about the highly anticipated film are being revealed. Last week, four new characters from "Rogue One" were presented, including a mercenary, a Rogue One team member, and a couple of stormtroopers.

According to Making Star Wars, Moroff is a Gigoran mercenary who seeks combat zones and peddles his strength and skills to anyone who needs it. A photo of the character shows a hairy white mammal-like creature armed with some serious firepower.

Rebel Commando Pao, an amphibious Drabata, is known for charging into a fight with the battle cry of "Sa'Kalla!" In "Rogue One," the fierce warrior will team up with Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and company on their mission to steal the Death Star plans.

Scarif Stormtrooper Commander is a breed of specialist Stormtroopers based in the top-secret Imperial Military headquarters, which is located on Skarif. These Shoretroopers wear sand-colored armor to help them blend in with the terrain as they patrol the bunkers and beaches in the area.

Hovertank Drivers are another type of Stormtrooper. These highly armored Imperial combat drivers are tasked with operating the Empire's armored repulser vehicles. They are said to rely on the thick shell of their vehicles for protection during battle.

Meanwhile, another character, one closer to the film's main protagonist, has also been introduced. In "Rogue One," "The Fall" star Valene Kane will play the role of Lyra Erso, Jyn's mother.

While it is unclear how big Lyra's role in the story will be, it was previously revealed that Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), Jyn's father, had a hand in the creation of the Death Star and was the one who sent a message to the Rebel Alliance alerting them to the weapon's existence.

"I grew up watching 'Stars Wars' and I didn't believe it was happening until I was filming in Iceland," Kane recently told Belfast Live about being cast in "Rogue One." "It has a really edgy independent vibe," she added.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" opens on Dec. 16.
