Steam winter sale 2016 start date, games list: PayPal UK confirmed Winter Sale 2016 start date
Steam will hold its annual Winter Sale this week, as confirmed by a credible source.
PayPal UK announced through its Twitter account that Steam will hold its next biggest sale on Thursday, Dec. 22. This is the second time that the British branch of the online payment system dropped the information about the upcoming sales event.
Steam just conducted its yearly Autumn Sale in November, where the prices for some of the fan-favorite game titles like "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," "Life is Strange," "Civilization 6" and "Dark Souls" were offered for a fraction of its original rate.
While the list of game titles that will be included in the upcoming Winter Sale remains under wraps, consumers are expecting to see a lot of games included in the roster. According to iDigitalTimes, there will be a lot of game titles that will be offered for $5 or less. There are also reports claiming that the deals will change every day as soon as the sale event starts.
However, the publication also speculated that since Valve did not release any promotion about the upcoming Steam Winter Sale this year, it can be expected that they will not release a big metagame just like they did in the past. This means that those who are looking forward to seeing trading cards and other promotional gimmicks might be disappointed this time.
Aside from the Winter Sale, Valve will also start the voting period for this year's Steam Award on the same day until Saturday, Dec. 29. Gamers will be allowed to vote for their favorite game titles in specific categories every 24 hours. The list of winners will be announced on New Year's Eve.
For this year, the first category for the Steam Awards poll is "The Villain Most in Need of a Hug Award" where "Borderlands 2," "Far Cry 3," "Far Cry 4," "Dead by Daylight" and "Portal 2" will be included in the list of nominees.
More details about the upcoming Steam Winter Sales for 2016 is expected to be released soon.
