"Steven Universe" has steadily grown to be one of the most popular shows on Cartoon Network. The show may be in hiatus right now, but creator Rebecca Sugar has just confirmed that she will be attending this week's New York Comic-Con (NYCC). Will fans be able to get an update on "Steven Universe" then?

Sugar recently announced her attendance with a tweet saying that she will be at NYCC 2016, which is taking place at the Javits Center from Oct. 6 to 9. She also attached a link to her schedule at the event which includes a "Steven Universe" panel, an autograph signing, and a Cartoon Network Costume Ball and Screening.

The "Steven Universe" panel will be held on Oct. 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hammerstein Ballroom, 311 W 34th St. The panel will show the audience some never-before-seen footage from the show, and they will also get an inside look behind the scenes. The event is also said to feature a musical performance from the voice actors.

As for Sugar's schedule for Oct. 8, and she will be attending two events. In the morning, she will be holding an autograph signing from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the NYCC autographing area. The afternoon will see her at the Cartoon Network Costume Ball from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Room 1A06.

The event is also said to showcase some brand new episodes from "Steven Universe" and "Adventure Time."

Over the course of "Steven Universe," more and more conventions have seen the attendance of cosplayers wearing costumes of Garnet, Pearl, or Steven. The show's popularity definitely has something to do with Sugar's unique world-building and the show's tackling of modern day issues like feminism and homosexuality.

Hopefully, fans will get some news about the show's return during the "Steven Universe" panel.
