'Steven Universe' season 4 release date, spoilers, news: Promo photo & leaked video suggest there is a new character
"Steven Universe" season 4 will be back tomorrow and it is speculated that there will be a new character as theories surface based on the promotional photo and a leaked preview video of the upcoming episode dubbed as "Gem Harvest."
"Steven Universe" is an animated series on Cartoon Network created by Rebecca Sugar. Its story revolves around the titular character voiced by Zach Callison and his coming-of-age journey in the fictional town called Beach City. With Steven are his humanoid friends known as the Crystal Gems whose job is to protect humans from monster threats.
A Redditor who goes by the username "TheEpicGreenMask" shared is thoughts and hunches that the promotional photo might be signaling a new character. According to the Reddit post, "If you look at the promotional picture for the episode, you see Pearl, Amethyst, Garnet, Lapis and Peridot looking at something. Pearl, Amethyst and Peridot seem shocked, but Garnet and Lapis are smiling. Now obviously Steven isn't in the picture, making you think they're looking at him, I agree with that but I also think he is with the New Gem (let's just call her NG)."
Pearl, Amethyst, Garnet, Lapis and Peridot are voiced by Deedee Magno, Michaela Dietz, Estelle, Jennifer Paz, and Shelby Rabara, respectively.
TheEpicGreenMask also took note of the episode description that says, "Steven's autumn visit to the barn brings a new stranger into his life."
Now, there are several theories surrounding who the new character could be. One is the aforementioned new Gem while according to a report by iTechPost, the new character could be Steven's uncle. The report explained that Greg, Steven's father, has a brother pilot. This brother is speculated to appear and stay in Beach City for some time.
As for the "Gem Harvest" airing schedule, according to The Geekiary, the episode will be "Steven Universe's" second 30-minute long episode for this season that will air tomorrow, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. EST, on Cartoon Network.
