'Stranger Things' Season 2 air date, news, cast rumors: Barb coming back alive? New character to be revealed
The final episode of "Stranger Things" may have explained a lot of things surrounding the mysterious plot of the series. However, the fans also had more additional questions in mind after each revelation. Nevertheless, the huge success of the Netflix original suspense thriller series is enough to spawn a huge second season, set to be released next year. In the opening of Season 2, more answers will be revealed as well as the new characters that will add to the current tension in the story.
According to iTech Post, the fans can expect a lot of twists and turns in "Stranger Things" Season 2, although the new chapter will still focus on the mysterious disappearance of certain people in the first season. For one, the viewers were distraught when Barbara Holland, popularly known as Barb, was snatched by the demigorgon. After that event, the fans have not heard anything about Barb. It is speculated that the second season will explain what actually happened during Barb's disappearance. Likewise, it is also possible that the character will make a surprising return. If ever this happens, there will be a huge impact to the current main characters, most especially to Barb's best friend, Nancy.
Aside from revisiting the past occurrences from Season 1, the upcoming season will also feature new faces. By next year, the "Stranger Things" fans will meet additional characters such as Bob Newby (Sean Astin), the manager of local Hawkins RadioShack who happens to be a former nerd who went to high school with Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Hopper (David Harbour).
Actor Paul Reiser will also join the current cast to play the role of Dr. Owens, a high-ranking official of the Department of Energy. Dr. Owens is actually among the team involved in resolving last season's mysterious occurrences.
Darce Montgomery will play the role of Billy, Max's older brother. Montgomery is also known as a cast member of the upcoming "Power Ranger" 2017 reboot, Business Insider reported.
