The sequel to "Stranger Things" is coming soon to Netflix this year, and the cast members have expressed what fans can expect for season 2. Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Barb, played by Shannon Purser, is alive.

"Stranger Things" season 2 is already coming to Netflix this year, and cast members have shared what's in store for the people of Hawkins when the show returns.

Executive producer Shawn Levy shared with Vanity Fair that "Season 2 is bigger and potentially darker in its stakes."

"The threat, which in Season 1 was to Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), has grown," Levy added. Although Schnapp did not want to reveal more details, he mentioned that the story will still revolve around the show's core characters.

Schnapp even teased about his storyline in season 2.

"In the last episode, I threw up a slug, so Season 2 begins with what happens from there. There may have been some effect on him. I may or may not have turned into a monster. You'll have to watch to find out," Schnapp explained.

The 14-year-old actor who plays Mike Wheeler — Finn Wolfhard — also said that since they know more about their characters, they can bring them up to a whole new level.

"I think we've grown up a little bit, and our characters have too. They have been through a lot and have used those experiences to help them grow and to be stronger in Season 2," Wolfhard shared.

It seems that "Stranger Things" season 2 will be a full of new stories, but one more thing to look forward to is that Barb has been confirmed to be alive.

At the Golden Globe Awards' opening number starring host Jimmy Fallon, along with the "Stranger Things" cast and other movie stars, it was revealed that Barb is alive as she came out of the pool where she was supposedly dragged and eaten by the demogorgon.

"Stranger Things" season 2 is set to premiere this 2017.
