'Stranger Things' season 2 release date, plot news 2016: New characters added to cast
The first season of Netflix's "Stranger Things" was a surprise hit when it made its debut, and now fans cannot wait for another installment.
There are a lot of speculations and rumors that are spreading about the show, but one thing that fans are most excited about is the return of Eleven which is played by Millie Bobby Brown.
According to reports, Eleven or El for short is one of the most anticipated characters that will be returning in the second season of "Stranger Things." However, it still unknown how the character will resurface once again since her fate is still not clear. It can be remembered during the finale of the first season that she sacrificed her life in order to eliminate the Demogorgon that was haunting the town.
There are speculations that the character might be returning in another form, but so far those are just rumors about the character. It is also still unsure if the character will actually be part of the recurring cast or if she will just appear once in a while.
It has already been unveiled that new characters are going to be part of the second installment. The new roles are Max and Billy, and they are known to be siblings. The two characters will be portrayed by Dacre Montgomery and Sadie Sink.
A conspiracy theorist will also join the ranks of the show as Murray Bauman, to be played by comedian Brett Gelman. The character is an ex-journalist and he is after the secrets that Hawkins is hiding. Actors Paul Reiser and Sean Astin have also been cast as Bob Newby and Owens, respectively.
There is no exact release date yet for the second season of "Stranger Things," but it is rumored to be launched on Netflix in July 2017.
