'Street Fighter 5' updates: season 2 officially launched
Capcom dropped the Season 2 of "Street Fighter 5" less than a year after the game's release.
The major content update came with six additional characters, starting off with the Japanese character Akuma. He will introduce his own Story and battle, as well as the character's Nostalgia costumes.
Akuma will also be a part of the new Character Pass 2017, as well five other characters that will bring their own Premium Battle costumes. The new Character Pass 2017 can be purchased for $29.99.
The new season of "Street Fighter 5" will bring several balance changes based on the feedback sent by the players and the internal testing that was done by the game developer. This will bring a better gameplay experience for all the playable characters of the game.
Other contents that came out with the season 2 update will also introduce the updated Rage Quit System to work on the problem of the current system. This means that the leaked information about Capcom's plan to launch a public-shaming scheme for rage quitters is actually real.
The Rage Quit System will include a new Matchmaking update, in which players who constantly disconnect during matches will now have a chance to be matched with other players who also experience the same thing. It also comes with the Player Profile Icons where the game's most honorable players and worst offenders will be given a special icon that will be tagged on their Fighter Profiles. The League Points Deduction, on the other hand, will deduct a player's League Points whenever a player disconnects during a match.
Aside from the game improvements, the season 2 of "Street Fighter 5" will also bring a Holiday downloadable content (DLC) complete with the B-Boy and B-Girl costumes for Ryu and Chun-Li, respectively. It also comes with several holiday contents that can be played until Jan. 17, 2017. The "Street Fighter 5" Holiday DLC can be purchased for $19.99.
