No games have made a mark in the fighting genre like Capcom's "Street Fighter" which has slowly evolved over the years with its current iteration being "Street Fighter V." The franchise is known to include numerous characters that have been dominant in pop culture like Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Guile. Another classic character has been announced to be joining the game, and it's the devil fighter himself, Akuma.

The character was announced at the Red Bull Battlegrounds North American Regional Finals. A 24-second clip was teased which showcased one of Akuma's signature moves. Fans can remember that Ryu and Ken in the game used "hadoukens" that have a blue glow while Akuma's attacks have a purple energy to them.

The clip also announced that Akuma will be playable at the Playstation Experience in the Anaheim Convention Center on Dec. 3 to 4, so fans who want to experience the "Street Fighter V" version of Akuma should wait until then.

For now, Akuma seems to be getting all the hype in the fighting game genre. Just this year, it was announced that Akuma will be crossing over to the "Tekken" franchise as a a playable character. What's also interesting is that his backstory seems to put him in a rivalry against the game's main villain, Heihachi Mishima.

With Akuma coming to "Street Fighter V," fans are excited to see the classic character brought back to the franchise's latest game.

No official release date has been announced for Akuma, but it's safe to assume that the character is still in its testing phases, much like "Overwatch" and the highly anticipated character Sombra. Though Sombra was officially announced in Blizzcon, the character is still being tested out to let developers perfect her before the release.

Any player who wants to try out the new Akuma will be able to play him at the Playstation Experience happening this December.
