'Super Mario Run' release date news: Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aimé speaks up; no Android release?
Mario is recognized as a character icon in the world of gaming. Nintendo was able to maintain the popularity of the game amid the constantly changing innovation in the world of entertainment.
The company is on the verge of releasing "Super Mario Run," but before that, Nintendo of American President Reggie Fils-Aimé has something substantial to reveal.
"We have reshaped our overall business mission and key strategies that are driving it," said the Nintendo boss in an interview with TechCrunch. "Our business mission is to make people smile through the use of our IP."
Not only is Nintendo known for its legendary Mario, its Pokémon games are also a hit. In fact, when "Pokémon GO" was released, it immediately soared high in the gaming charts. The augmented reality mobile game just created a benchmark in gaming, particularly with the use of GPS.
It is now expected that "Super Mario Run" will gather the same success as the "Pokémon GO," especially since it is set to be released this holiday season.
The iOS-exclusive game still keeps the addicting gameplay in a side-scrolling format, retaining all the classic elements Mario has been gathering and fighting against.
"Super Mario Run is a game our team wanted to make accessible to everyone — five to 95. All you have to do is tap on the screen with one finger. But the ability to progress, the ability to capture all the coins, the ability to build your kingdom — that takes some mastery." Fils-Aimé said.
The publication wrote that avid players will feel a sense of comfort when they arrive in Mushroom Kingdom, crediting the game ambiance to the game creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, as well as the entire development team.
"Super Mario Run" is scheduled to launch on Dec. 8, 2016 for iOS. There is no news whether it will become available for Android devices.
