'Super Mario Run' release date, news, rumors: Latest 'Mario' game coming to Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android devices this December?
According to the latest rumors, the much awaited mobile gaming app "Super Mario Run" will be released before the year ends. It was earlier reported that Nintendo set the release of the mobile game in December, and as of now, it looks like their target release date for "Super Mario Run" will come into fruition.
According to a recent report from Mic, it is likely that Nintendo will be able to release "Super Mario Run" this December. A known game industry analyst, D. Serkan Toto, predicts that "Super Mario Run" will still be released in December, in spite of some rumors suggesting that Nintendo might delay the launch of the game.
However, there is no exact date just yet regarding the December release of "Super Mario Run." For the iOS users, it is likely that the game will be launched sometime in December, although they will be notified right away by the Apple App Store if "Super Mario Run" is already made available. As for the Android users, it is still uncertain if the game will be released during the same period. It is possible that the "Super Mario Run" launch for Android devices will happen early next year.
On the other hand, the rumors are rife that "Super Mario Run" will not only be released in the Apple and Android devices in the coming weeks or months. Mobile gamers at the NEOGAF forum are speculating that "Super Mario Run" will also be released in the latest gaming gadget, Nintendo Switch.
Specifically, Nintendo was noted to have filed a trademark application for "Super Mario Run" via J-PlatPat/INPIT last September. This suggests that the game may not only be released as a smartphone gaming application, but also a playable game in the Nintendo Switch. After all, the Nintendo Switch is not considered to be a mainstream gaming console, so the format of "Super Mario Run" may be supported by the device.
Nintendo already revealed earlier this year that they are shaping up "Super Mario Run" to be as popular as Niantic Lab's highly successful mobile game "Pokemon Go." According to Bloomberg, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima is expecting that their upcoming "Super Mario" game will do well in the mobile app market.
