'Supergirl' season 2 spoilers: Callista Flockhart might be back for a cameo role as Cat Grant

"Supergirl" is cruising past its second year's midseason and Calista Flockhart has yet to reprise her role as Cat Grant following her appearance and then departure at CatCo, leaving Kara (Melissa Benoist) with her new boss, Carr (Ian Gomez). And while things seem to be well at the media group, fans are still clamoring for the return of the superficial boss.

Unfortunately, chances are quite unlikely that Flockhart will be toting to Vancouver soon to reprise her role as Grant. In a tip by Michael Ausiello from TV Line, he reveals that as of now, there are no plans in motion to bring Kara's former boss back into the thick of things. However, there is a possibility that if all goes well, Harrison Ford's wife will be back in National City by the second quarter of 2017.

"Flockhart is not currently confirmed to appear in any additional Season 2 episodes, but there's talk of a short-term comeback in the spring," an excerpt from the report reads.

A huge part of the actress's decision to take on a recurring role instead of a mainstay is because of "Supergirl" execs' sudden decision to move production to Vancouver following its transfer from CBS to The CW. At that point, many suspected that Flockhart will drop out of the series given the need for her to relocate for most part of the year up north in the Canadian city.

Meanwhile, moving forward with the show, Mon-El's (Chris Wood) secret is threatening his newfound relationship with Kara presumably regarding his real identity. It can be remembered that there is just a lot of plot holes to his story about being a mere Daxam guard especially with the kind of threat that is hunting him down. But "Supergirl" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg just would not be budged when questioned about the aforementioned bombshell that is about to blow. He, however, teases a bit on what fans can expect on how Kara will be taking Mon-El's confession when he finally makes it.

"Secrets are never healthy in a relationship and obviously Mon-El is holding onto something," the TV boss told Entertainment Weekly. "We got a little taste that his life on Daxam might not be as over as we think from the glimpse of the space farers, who are on the hunt for him. So it will definitely play a big part in their relationship moving forward."

"Supergirl" is scheduled to be back on air on Jan. 23, 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
