'Supernatural' season 12 episode 9 spoilers: Season returns with Winchester brothers imprisoned in underground facility
The 12th season of "Supernatural" is set to return in a few days with its ninth episode, "First Blood."
The upcoming episode will be picking up from where episode 8 ended. Loyal viewers of the show will get to see how Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) will be able to prove themselves innocent after having been arrested by the Secret Service for attempting to assassinate the President of the United States.
In truth, the Winchester brothers had no intention of killing President Jefferson Rooney. They only attempted to exorcise him because he was possessed by Lucifer.
According to Yibada, "First Blood" will see the Winchesters deal with the consequences of their actions. Dead and Sam will still be locked behind bars, and they must work hard to prove their innocence in order to have any hope of being set free.
A synopsis published by Spoiler TV about the upcoming episode also teased that the Winchester brothers will be kept as prisoners in "an underground, government-run, detention facility in the middle of nowhere."
In her determination to find her sons, Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) will work together with Castiel (Misha Collins) to seek assistance from an unlikely source.
A promo trailer for the upcoming episode was also released back in December 2016. As what is detailed in the synopsis, the video shows the Winchesters locked up in a prison cell which "officially doesn't exist." Meanwhile, Castiel and Mary are seen working hard to rescue the brothers.
With the conundrum Sam and Dean will be facing as inmates of a non-existent, underground prison, loyal fans of the show are eager to find out how exactly the "Supernatural" hunters will be able to get themselves out of trouble this time around.
"Supernatural" season 12 episode 9 is scheduled to air on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 8:00 p.m. ET on The CW. The upcoming episode is directed by Rober Singer and is written by Andrew Dabb.
