'Supernatural' season 12 return date, news, spoilers: Sam and Dean will have a hard time getting away from the government
Unlike in demon related scenarios, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will find it very difficult to escape from the government. Meanwhile, Castiel (Misha Collins) and Mary (Samantha Smith) might be asking for help from unlikely allies.
Previously in "Supernatural" season 12, Sam and Dean were taken in by the secret service for attempting to kill the President of the United States. The two were captured and taken to an isolated place, so much so that it almost doesn't exist on the map.
Executive producer Andrew Dabb shared with TV Line that "Supernatural" season 12 returns after a six-week time jump, which is the total amount of time that the Winchesters have already been missing.
"We'll see how Sam and Dean act in that period of isolation, but also how the rest of the world reacts, as well — specifically Cas and Mary and some other players," Dabb added.
The showrunner also said that Sam and Dean will find it to escape their current situation.
"The people that have them think they're real, legitimate criminals, albeit kind of terrorists more than your common thief or anything like that. Sam and Dean [are] facing something where it's not like they can do what they normally do," Dabb explained.
Sam and Dean won't be able to convince the secret service of demons and monsters to make them side with them, which means that they will have to come up with a new kind of technique to escape.
It seems that Cas and Mary will also have a hard time getting the boys out because based on the set photos, the two might be asking help from the British Men of Letters.
The British Men of Letters might ask something in return, and Cas and Mary will have to decide if it is worth risking.
"Supernatural" season 12 returns on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
