With the full game's release scheduled later this month, a demo version of the video game "Tales of Berseria" has recently been made available for download.

As reported by TechnoBuffalo, the latest installment in Bandai Namco's long-running JRPG franchise now has a downloadable demo for both PlayStation 4 and Windows PC (via Steam).

In "Tales of Berseria," players embark on a journey of self-discovery. They will assume the playable character Velvet, a young woman who was once kind but is now filled with anger and hatred after suffering from a traumatic experience three years earlier. Velvet will be joining a crew of pirates who travel across the sacred kingdom of Midgand while also facing different kinds of adventures along the way.

Velvet's character was personally designed by veteran "Tales" character designer Mutsumi Inomata. Famous Japanese animation studio, ufotable, also returned to the franchise to animate the game's breathtaking scenes in order to effectively deliver its epic and emotional story.

Bandai Namco's "Tales" games are widely recognized for their adorable anime storylines, colorful characters, and their notorious inconsistency, according to TechnoBuffalo. "Tales of Symphonia," for example, is both a classic and a masterpiece. On the other hand, it also released other games, like "Tales of Zestiria," which was a huge misstep that got forgotten within the year.

Hence, those who are interested in purchasing the full game is advised to try out the game's demo version to see for themselves if "Tales of Berseria" is worth the price they will be paying for. The game has not gained much buzz since its launch in Japan, but it's too close to call if that indicates a good or bad feedback from Japanese gamers who own and tried out the game.

"Tales of Berseria" is scheduled to launch for the PS4 on Jan. 24 in North America and Jan. 27 in Europe. The game's PC version is slated for a worldwide release on Jan. 27 as well.
