'Teen Wolf' season 6 spoilers, cast news 2016: Tyler Hoechlin quits show?
Since the conclusion of "Teen Wolf" season 5, fans have been eagerly waiting for the next installment to arrive. While the last season found more foes for Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) to fight, showrunner Jeff Davis teases "Teen Wolf" season 6 as having a whole new vibe and may feature a ghost storyline, so a haunting and creepy atmosphere may be up for the show's avid followers.
In the meantime, news of Tyler Hoechlin, who played Derek Hale in previous seasons, quitting the show has also hit fans hard. It may have something to do with his role being a little bit too serious, according to reports, that he has a hard time injecting some humor into it.
Hoechlin clarified this though, sharing what he did like about his role as Hale.
"I actually really enjoyed all the arcs. I thought every season, they gave me something really kind of great and new to play with, so that was definitely never an issue that I had," he said.
Still, the actor confirmed that he doesn't have plans yet of returning to "Teen Wolf" for season 6.
"Oh god. I'm sorry, I would love to make everybody cheer and be happy right now. I don't have any plans to right now," he shared.
He went on to say that in the last part he played, he felt that his character had "wrapped it up" and had passed the baton on to Scott. The actor said that he also had no idea how coming back would play out when he considered that story had already ended.
Hoechlin admitted that it was not really part of his plans right now.
It may also have something to do with the fact that he has another project lined up. He is set to star in "Fifty Shades Darker," in which he will reportedly play Anastasia Steele's lover, Boyce Fox.
It may seem that Hoechlin won't be filming for the upcoming "Teen Wolf" season 6 anytime soon, although the actor did part with, "You never know with TV."
The premiere of "Teen Wolf" season 6 has not been announced as yet.
