'Teen Wolf' season 6 news updates, spoilers 2016: Production delayed anew because of Dylan O'Brien?

"Teen Wolf" season 6 has been marred by one too many setbacks before an official premiere date was announced for what is going to be the final season of MTV's supernatural teen series. Now, though, it looks like production of the sixth and final season is going through another major setback.

Production of the series is already running late, as Dylan O'Brien, who plays Stiles Stilinski on the series, suffered an accident on the set of his film, "Maze Runner: The Death Cure," back in March. He was given time to recuperate, which is why instead of a June premiere, MTV thought it best to push the release to November.

There were earlier rumors that some scenes for "Teen Wolf" season 6 have been shot prior to O'Brien's accident. However, according to reports, it was showrunner Jeff Davis himself who admitted that production will continue a little late, perhaps starting in October.

He didn't directly say it was due to O'Brien, but fans assumed that he was the reason, as all the other cast members are just waiting in the wings. There are rumors that his return to the set of "Teen Wolf" is open-ended; he will return to the set when he can. Of course, someone from the production team is yet to confirm whether there is truth to this or none.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Daily Mail, actress Holland Roden, who plays Lydia (Stiles' love interest) on the series, said the series will be ending on an "intense note." She added that fans and viewers of "Teen Wolf" season 6 will definitely enjoy the series finale, comparing season 6's direction to "Stranger Things," the Netflix series that has been getting serious publicity these days.

On the other hand, Tyler Posey, who plays alpha male Scott McCall, said recently that the upcoming installment of the series will be more mature, with Scott focusing on uniting his pack than looking for a new ladylove.

"Teen Wolf" season 6 is expected to air on MTV on Nov. 15.
