'Teen Wolf' season 6 release date, spoilers news: Lydia is Stiles' only hope against Ghost Riders' attack?
It's all systems go for "Teen Wolf" season 6 despite rumors that actor Dylan O'Brien, who plays Stiles Stilinski on the series, has been causing delays in production.
With O'Brien still reeling from his on-set accident in March while filming "Maze Runner: The Death Cure," everyone behind the MTV series has been accommodating of the actor's condition, even if it meant pushing back the season 6 premiere from June to November.
In fact, there are rumors that the introduction of "Teen Wolf" season 6's new villains was done with O'Brien's situation in mind. According to reports, the Ghost Riders are heading out to Beacon Hills with their eyes set on Stiles.
Apparently, the Ghost Riders are able to erase someone from the memories of those around him and wipe the existence of people around them. One by one, Stiles' friends and family will forget about him to the point where he doesn't even remain a distant memory in their minds. He will be completely wiped off from their memories.
There are speculations that this plot is meant to write O'Brien off the series. Still, Jeff Davis, the show's executive producer, teased that season 6 will see things between Stiles and Lydia (Holland Roden) developing into something deeper. A copy of the script showing their deeper connection was even teased on Twitter.
In the script that was teased, it looked like everyone else was starting to forget Stiles due to the strong powers of the Ghost Riders. Nevertheless, Lydia will be the last one to forget about Stiles' existence.
According to iTechPost, Lydia will play a crucial role in bringing back Stiles' memories. It seems as "Teen Wolf" season 6 progresses, the storyline will reveal why Lydia was the last one to forget about him, and that she will be the key to unlocking Stiles' memories. In effect, she will be Stiles' only hope.
That makes for an interesting plot for the upcoming season of "Teen Wolf," which according to Tyler Posey, who plays leader of the pack Scott McCall, will have a more mature vibe.
"Teen Wolf" season 6 is set to return on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9 p.m. EDT on MTV.
