'Teen Wolf' season 6 spoilers news 2016: Dylan O'Brien returning to set, but will his character die in final season?
Production for "Teen Wolf" season 6 has resumed, and with the production team confirming that Dylan O'Brien would soon be back on the set, it looks like the actor is back to breathe life into his role once again.
Back in March, O'Brien suffered serious injuries on the set of his movie "Maze Runner: The Death Cure." The extent of the injuries was never fully disclosed, but there were rumors that the 24-year-old actor suffered major facial burns. The accident was due to a stunt mishap, something the production team of the movie took the blame for.
O'Brien's accident was said to be one of the reasons why "Teen Wolf" is ending after six seasons. Nevertheless, the cast and crew confirmed during the San Diego Comic-Con that he would be back on set to reprise his character, Stiles soon.
Just recently, a photo of O'Brien posing alongside a fan surfaced on Twitter. In the photo, the actor looked healthy, although he is now sporting a full beard. It hasn't been confirmed whether the beard would be part of Stiles' new look for "Teen Wolf" season 6 or if it's something O'Brien grew while on filming hiatus.
Showrunner Jeff Davis has told Entertainment Weekly that O'Brien's character, which has always been shrouded in mystery, would be a big part of the upcoming season.
"We're going to see why exactly he's Scott's (Tyler Posey) best friend, what it means that he's Malia's (Shelley Hennig) human anchor, and what his will-they-or-won't-they relationship is with Lydia (Holland Roden)," said Davis.
Davis likewise hinted of two huge life moments happening to Stiles at the start and at the end of the sixth season. These may or may not be connected to the new villains for season 6, the Ghost Riders, which have been described as having "the ability to alter memories." There are talks that the Ghost Riders would target Stiles, thereby putting his life in danger.
"Stydia" could happen at this point, as MNR Daily reported that Roden's Character, Lydia, might be the one to protect Stiles from the Ghost Riders. Lydia is a banshee, and as such, the villains' powers would be useless on her. Of course, that's something fans would find out when the show returns this November.
MTV has confirmed that the sixth and final season of "Teen Wolf" would drop on Nov. 15. Keep coming back for more updates on the upcoming final installment.
