'Teen Wolf' season 6 release date, plot spoilers: Writers tease exciting details and new trailer to be unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con
Here's some great news for fans who can't wait for "Teen Wolf" season 6 to start airing. MTV has confirmed that the series would be part of this year's San Diego Comic-Con, which is happening on July 21.
The series has been hounded by various speculations following Dylan O'Brien's accident while filming "Maze Runner: The Death Cure," with some rumors claiming the actor won't be reprising his role anymore. Still, it looks like it's all systems go for "Teen Wolf" season 6 as Scott McCall's (Tyler Posey) pack is trooping to the annual San Diego Comic-Con commencing later this month.
According to MTV, cast members and executive producer Jeff Davis will appear for a panel discussion in Ballroom 20 on July 21, Thursday, at 4:30 p.m. PT. Fans would also get a chance to participate in a question and answer discussion that Samantha Highfill, resident "Teen Wolf" expert of Entertainment Weekly, would moderate.
Aside from the usual autograph signing from "Teen Wolf" cast members, which is a regular treat of SDCC to fans, they will also unveil an exclusive first-look trailer for season 6. Juicy tidbits on upcoming storylines would likewise be shared.
Normally, the MTV supernatural drama opens its new season every June. Nevertheless, production had to adjust to give O'Brien enough time to recuperate. While production has started, it is currently on a two-week hiatus, according to Teen Wolf News. Still, the premiere date for the upcoming season could be revealed at the SDCC.
Back in March, Davis talked to TV Guide and said that aside from the Nazi werewolf who was seen walking out of the Dread Doctors' lab in the fifth season finale, there will be a new threat in the upcoming season.
"There will be another threat that is worrisome," Davis said. "That has to do with the different mythology that we're exploring for Season 6, which is a pretty big one for us and technically very difficult for us."
It remains to be seen if this new villain would be introduced at the SDCC, which will run from July 21-24. In the meantime, expect more details about "Teen Wolf" season 6 and its SDCC panel to be released in the coming days.
