'Teen Wolf' season 6 release date news: Premiere revealed; Series' last?
The good news is that "Teen Wolf" season 6 now has an official airdate. The bad news is fans would have to start counting the days until Scott McCall's last adventure, as the MTV series is making way for its final season.
Cast members of "Teen Wolf" visited San Diego Comic-Con for the last time, and there it was revealed that season 6 would be the series' last.
According to International Business Times, the cast dropped plenty of hints about the upcoming season, even revealing that the new villains for the sixth installment, the Ghost Riders, have the ability to erase people from memory. Apparently, Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) would be the next target of the Ghost Riders.
It was also revealed that Theo (Cody Christian), who was pulled into the ground by his dead sister in the season 5 finale, would make a comeback in the upcoming installment. Fans are hoping that Derek Hale (Tyler Hoechlin) would come back for the final season to say a proper goodbye, too.
Tyler Posey, who plays Scott, Beacon Hills' alpha male, isn't really sad that the series, which started in 2011, would be airing its 100th and final episode in 2017.
"So much peace was in me, and happiness, looking back on everything that we've done as a cast, as a show, as an entity," the actor told TV Line. "There's not a lot of shows that can say they've done that and made 100 episodes and remained friends and are going to go on to bigger and better things. ... I am going to bawl my eyes out, but they're all happy tears."
According to MTV, the sixth and final season of "Teen Wolf" will air starting Nov. 15. It will air every Tuesday, presumably in its usual 9 p.m. timeslot.
Meanwhile, check out the first trailer for "Teen Wolf" season 6, which was unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con.
