'Terminator: Genisys' Release Date Scheduled For July 2015; First Trailer Video Out
The first trailer for the much-anticipated "Terminator: Genisys," which is scheduled to hit theaters this July, has been released by Paramount Pictures.
The trailer sees the Terminator T-1000 (Lee Byung-hun) being sent back in time to kill Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney), the father of John Connor (Jason Clarke), the leader of the Resistance against the machines. John Connor has sent Reese, his trusted lieutenant, back in time to protect his mother, Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke), and thus his own existence after learning that another Terminator had been sent back to kill her when she was a little girl.
However, Kyle finds that the original past is different from what he used to know. He finds out that Sarah has been brought up by another Terminator T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) who has been programmed to protect her. Kyle and Sarah now have to escape the new T-800 and the T-1000 sent by Skynet to kill them, with the help of Schwarzenegger's old T-800.
An interesting scene features Schwarzenegger as the old T-800 jumping out of the helicopter to try and save Sarah.
The T-800 will be battling against himself because of the fact that the plot of the movie involves multiple timelines that tend to intersect. In an attempt to "rearrange" the present, confusion happens.
It is rumored that "Genisys" will feature an epic showdown between Byung-hun Lee's T-1000 and Arnold Schwarzenegger's character.
Another rumor is that Matt Smith's character is actually the one who sent the T-800 back in time just to save his grandmother. He will end up being Kate and John Connor's son.
Spoilers say John may have successfully weakened Skynet for now but it may rise up once more in a future setting where his son will become the military leader.
