The end of the world seems inevitable based on the trailer for "The 100" season 4.

When the post-apocalyptic series concluded in season 3, ALIE (Erica Cerra) told Clarke (Eliza Taylor) that the Earth will experience another destruction due to the continuous meltdown of the nuclear plants that were neglected in different parts of the world.

ALIE wanted Clarke and the rest of the remaining Earth inhabitants to be under the virtual world called City of Light, but Clarke refused. She told the artificial intelligence (AI) that she and her people can manage to survive the upcoming tragedy.

But based on the trailer for the upcoming season, the threat of the nuclear breakdown will actually happen. Both the Sky People and the Grounders will experience the danger caused by the nuclear plants.

Yet aside from the upcoming destruction, the Earth's inhabitants will also battle among themselves about how they should deal with the danger. At the same time, Octavia (Marie Avgeropoulos) will turn into a killing machine in the fourth season of "The 100."

In the trailer, Octavia's mentor Indra (Adina Porter) nervously watch as Octavia kills people. Roan (Zach McGowan) told her that the Octavia is now called the Sky Ripper, who is also described as "death from above."

In an interview with ScreenerTV, Avgeropoulos revealed that there is a reason why her character opted to be feared when the series returns for season 4. "Octavia at the end of the season definitely took a really dark turn. She had the most horrific thing — other than being born and raised underneath the floor — happen to her," Avgeropoulos stated. "She lost the love of her life, the only man that really ever believed in her and who really opened the door to being a Grounder and a warrior."

She also explained that Octavia knows that she is very skilled in killing people, which is why she plans to use it for her benefit.

"The 100" will return to The CW for its fourth season on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017.
