A new datamine reveals the map of Vvardenfell, the setting of one Bethesda's most famous games, "Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind," hinting at the possible direction the massively multiplayer online (MMO) game, "Elder Scrolls Online," may be headed to this year.

As reported by Inverse, a Redditor recently shared a datamined map of Vvardenfell, the northern island found in "Morrowind." The map indicates that the area is nearing its completion except for a few more portions. Commenters on the Reddit post believe that the new map will probably occupy the biggest area in the Morrowind zone of "Elder Scrolls Online."

Particular interest on the Vvardenfell map was focused on the beloved cities and ports which could be found in the classic video game. However, although the new area could be double the size of Wrothgar, it seems that the volcanic region of Red Mountain would not be made accessible to online gamers.

According to Gamespot, it is still uncertain when or if the Vvardenfell map will indeed be included in the online "Elder Scrolls" game. However, given the popularity of "Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind" and the fact that the game will be celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, doing so would be the most natural choice.

The datamined Vvardenfell map is no longer a surprise to most "Elder Scrolls Online" gamers. The map's possible inclusion in the online game was teased as far back as 2012, when it was hinted that the game's developers could add the northern island into the game in the future.

Many "Elder Scroll Online" gamers also noticed some details involving Vvardenfell were slowly being added to the online game as early as May 2016, with the inclusion of new quests, dungeons as well as three-player homes.

"Elder Scrolls Online" was launched on the Windows PC back in April 2014, followed by a console launch in June 2015. Since then, the online game has seen five DLC updates, three of which have added new zones in the game's world.
