This October will see the release of Bethesda's remastered version of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," but fans are already waiting for "The Elder Scrolls VI." The bad news is, though the game is coming in the future, it currently isn't in the works.

Reports are saying that the delay is due to the other ongoing projects that Bethesda has been working on as of the moment. Bethesda marketing executive Pete Hines said in a Twitter post that "Elder Scrolls VI" isn't in development. "We simply said we would make it eventually. Don't want people to be misled," he wrote.

Fans speculate that the sequel will focus on another location in the world of Tamriel. As of now, the locations that haven't been used in the games are Elsweyr, Valenwood and Argonia (Black Marsh). Fans believe that the world of Argonia will be the setting in the next "Elder Scrolls" game. It's known as the home of the lizard race in the series. Players have been able to use Argonians in the past, but they have yet to go to the home of the species.

Though a sequel may not be coming any time soon, "Elder Scrolls" fans can get their hands on the remastered edition of "Skyrim" for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. According to Gamespot, the game will go live on all platforms on Oct. 28.

The good news for PC players is that the remastered/special edition of the game will be available for free for anyone who owns "Skyrim" and its three downloadable content packs.

PS4 and Xbox One owners will be able to get the game on midnight EDT in North America. European territories will get the game 12 a.m. local time; Japan will be able to get the game on Oct. 28, 2 p.m. JST.

"Elder Scrolls VI" is currently not in the works.
