Vin Diesel is taking some time to remember his dear friend and "The Fast and the Furious" co-star Paul Walker in the most special way.

The actor took it to his social media to post a photo of him and Walker in what presumably have been taken during the early days of the franchise with both of them smiling during a red carpet event. It has been three years since the fateful road accident that claimed Walker's life and since then, his co-stars in the automobile-centric mega franchise have always dedicated their work in his memory. First in his last projects is "The Fast and the Furious 7," in which he was actually able to film some scenes but was not able to finish, and the upcoming "The Fate of the Furious."

Diesel captioned the snap he uploaded on his official Instagram: "The arduous road to production, the challenging task of filming this latest chapter. The record breaking trailer debut and the shocked world at what the dark road implied... you Pablo have given me strength... purpose and resolve. I promised you we would make something you would be proud of and I pray that we have... miss you. Family above everything!"

Diesel was talking about the record-breaking first trailer for the eighth installment of the film series, which has become the most viewed video on YouTube for 24 hours dethroning former accolade holder, Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" live-action remake.

"The Fate of the Furious" takes the franchise to new heights with Diesel's character — squad leader Dominic Toretto — turning his back on his team and coming to work with Cipher (Charlize Theron), a criminal manipulator. While fans would have to wait for the movie to know its main plot twist, it looks like Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) will be taking over in an effort to chase after their former colleague and delve into his sudden change of heart.

"The Fate of the Furious" arrives in cinemas on April 14.
