Fans of "The Flash" will soon see what Dr. Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) meant when she said that her mother is "as cold as ice."

In "The Flash" season 2, Caitlin was abducted by Zoom (Teddy Sears) and brought to Earth-2, where she met her doppelgänger, Killer Frost. While the two didn't have much in common, they both agreed that their mothers were "cold."

Viewers will understand just how cold Dr. Tannhauser (Susan Walters) can be when she finally appears in an upcoming episode of "The Flash" season 3. In "Monster," Caitlin will turn to the renowned biomedical scientist as she struggles with her transformation into Killer Frost. The episode is expected to show the icy relationship between the two and how this dynamic has irrevocably affected Caitlin.

"You've heard snippets throughout the show so far of how her mom is pretty cold," "The Flash" executive producer Todd Helbing told Entertainment Weekly. "When you meet her, you'll understand exactly what Caitlin has been talking about and exactly how their dynamic works. You can see how that's had a long-term effect on Caitlin," he added.

Meanwhile, "The Flash" actress Violett Beane, who plays Jesse Quick, recently clarified that her character's powers are not a result of Flashpoint.

"As far as Flashpoint goes, I'm pretty sure it only affects one world, the world that Barry changed the timeline for," the actress told EW.

"The particle accelerator, the dark matter, is definitely a part of what happened to Jesse," she explained. "You'll see in a scene in the episode about how specifically she started her powers," she added.

In the next episode of "The Flash" season 3, Jesse and her father, Harry (Tom Cavanagh), will return to Earth-1 so Barry (Grant Gustin) can help train her.

"The Flash" season 3 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
