'The Flash' Spoilers, Plot Recap: Barry Experiences Time Travel for the First Time in Episode 'Out Of Time'
Barry (Grant Gustin) finally got to experience his time-traveling ability in the latest episode of "The Flash" which aired on Tuesday at 8/7c on CW.
The episode titled 'Out of Time" also witnessed the death of a major character and the revelation of the villainous streak of another.
The show kicked off with the transformation of Mark Mardon (Liam McIntyre) into the Weather Wizard in a flashback scene. Mardon came to town to exact revenge on Joe (Jesse L. Martin) for killing his brother.
As for Barry, he was on a date with Linda (Malese Jow) in a bowling alley but then Iris (Candice Patton) and Eddie (Rick Cosnett) also arrived and their double date ended awkwardly.
In the morgue, Mardon forced the coroner to disclose the killer of his brother. After getting the information he needed, Mardon killed the coroner. This tripped an alarm and brought Barry, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Joe to the morgue where they discovered that Mardon had killed the coroner.
Barry headed back to the STAR labs and the team concocted a device to stop Mardon, who was revealed to have found the ability to control the weather. Barry and Joe then had a heart-to-heart about Iris where Barry confided that he was having non-sister like feelings for his adopted sister. The duo narrowly escaped death when Mardon suddenly attacked them.
Cisco, meanwhile, started to suspect that Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) was up to no good after Barry mentioned the suspicions aired by Bridge (Roger Howarth). He recruited Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) to keep an eye on Wells while he checked the contraption which was used to trap the Reverse Flash. The device appeared to have malfunctioned, leading to the discovery that it was just a hologram projector.
Wells sensed danger and slipped away from Caitlin. He then killed Cisco. But before that, he revealed that he was Eobard Thawne aka Reverse Flash from the future.
Meanwhile, Mardon attacked the police station and injured Detective Singh (Patrick Sabongui). Joe managed to escape.
However, after Joe and Eddie tracked Mardon in his hideout, Mardon kidnapped Joe and took him hostage on a boat.
Mardon then lured Iris and Barry to the docks as he planned to make Joe watch while he killed Iris and Barry with a giant tsunami.
Iris then told Barry that she loves him. As the two lovers kissed, a tsunami started approaching the docks. Barry quickly changed into The Flash and ran quickly to create a wall of wind—a vortex barrier—around the coastline to stop the tsunami and save the city.
However, after creating a vortex barrier using his powers, Barry realized he had travelled a day into the past.
