'The Fosters' season 4 spoilers: Will AJ and Callie break up?

In the upcoming second half of the fourth season of "The Fosters," Callie (Maia Mitchell) and AJ (Tom Williamson) will be dealing with huge challenges in their relationship.

In the midseason finale of the hit TV series from Freeform, viewers may recall how AJ felt insecure over Callie's closeness with Aaron (Elliot Fletcher). AJ also mentioned his worries over Callie's shared past with Brandon (David Lambert).

As reported by the International Business Times, the second half of season 4 will feature Aaron's continued and expanding role in Callie's life, and this growing relationship will threaten AJ's romance with her girlfriend.

Executive producer Joanna Johnson told TV Line that there will be no new love interest for Callie introduced in the upcoming episodes. However, aside from AJ's insecurities with Aaron, Callie's obsessive pursuit of justice for Kyle will also take a toll on her relationship with her boyfriend.

The 11th episode of "The Fosters" season 4 is titled "Insult to Injury," and it promises a lot of twists and turns in the show's story based on its trailer.

In the upcoming episode, Callie will be involved in a serious car accident. Jesus (Noah Centineo) will be fighting for his life after his fight with Nick (Louis Hunter), a situation which Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) will blame herself for. Mariana was also the one who asked Jesus for help after finding out that Nick had been stalking her.

On the other hand, Brandon will also have to re-evaluate his future since he can no longer enroll in his dream school. It can be recalled that in the first half of season 4, Brandon's acceptance at Julliard was revoked when it was revealed that he had taken the test in another student's behalf.

The second half of "The Fosters" season 4 will kick off with the premiere of its 11th episode, which is scheduled to air on Jan. 31 at 8 p.m. EST on Freeform.
